Promoting Personal Preparedness:
Universal Design and Health Interventions
By Garrett Simonsen, guest contributor
Transcript: You Don't Have to Prepare Alone
NARRATOR: I know emergencies like blzzards or house fires can happen to me. I want to plan ahead for them. So I asked my neighbor Ann to make an emergency plan with me. We used a checklist from our local health department to get supplies and pick where to meet in an emergency. Now I feel prepared because we have a plan. Plus, Ann and I check up on each other. We're each other's safety net. So contact your local health department or city or town hall to start your planning, too.
Be prepared. Plan ahead.
